Residents of Amesbury MA were greeted to a pleasant surprise yesterday morning. Over 1000 residents found a flowering annual on their doorstep left by a local organization, The Littlest Change.
The flowers were left as a random act of kindness. The goal of The Littlest Change is to help people realize that the smallest acts of thoughtfulness and giving can make a world of difference in people’s lives and the community. “Flowers make people happy, and we like being a tiny link in the chain” says Dorothy McGrath co-founder of the Littlest Change.
The Littlest Change partnered together with three local nurseries, Beach Plum Nurseries of Salisbury, Harbor Garden Center of Salisbury, and Nunan’s Florist and Greenhouse of Georgetown, to distribute the more than 1000 flower seedlings to unsuspecting area residents on Sunday May 19th.
“All three businesses were eager to participate and donated all of the flowers at no cost”, says The Littlest Change Co-Founder, Danielle Levy. “Flowers are symbolic of spring and new beginnings and growth. In these hard times the goal was for residents to be surprised by the random act and hopefully to pay it forward in some way to someone else.”
The Littlest Change is always eager to partner with schools, businesses and other organizations to help spread kindness. Please check out The Littlest Change at www.thelittlestchange.com to see how you can become involved.
